: Mmm...  Not really.  I make friends.  They're toys.  My friends are toys.  I make them.  It's a hobby.

“Blade Runner”

Welcome to the home page for TeamUR Robo Project Illustrated.  You can find out here about our project goal and the origin of the project name.
Take a look at What's New in our web site.  Your feedback is appreciated.

TeamUR the Fourth: new approach - simulate first, solder later.
TeamUR the Third: an improved TeamUR the Second.

TeamUR the Second finally has been discarded...  Unfortunately we ran into some problems with the stepper motors...

TeamUR the First: performs great! It is able to move on the flat surface and avoid the obstacles.

The Project Goal

The goal of the project is to build group of desktop semi-autonomous microrobots.  The main purpose of the robots is to conduct the experiments with possibilities of robot cooperation within a team.

The web page is developed to share project data among project members and all the Robo-Fans.  We know that so fare we are inexperienced on robotics field but hoping to gain some knowledge soon!

Origin of the Project Name

Originally "TeamUR" was "Timur" what stands for T... I... Mobile Unit Robot.  With the idea of Timur name came up Leszek.  The name of the project is after "Timur and His Squad" book hero name.  It is kind of joke and makes us smiling.  For a long time the kids in the Eastern Europe Block countries were forced by the communist regime to read this type of propaganda books.  Since original pronunciation sounds more like "team-ur" and our project is about group of robots rather about individuals then the name has been changed to Teamur.  One of my friends said, that reading this word he thinks about tea rather than about team...  OK. then! Let's capitalize the ending what makes TeamUR: Team of Unusual Robots!

Who is the Project's Sponsor and how much does it cost?

At this point of time we have no sponsor.  The most expensive part of the project is our time.  But how can you calculate a dollar value of team members' time and enthusiasm?  We are just crazy!

Why Some of the Documents are in Polish and Some are in English?

Because we are Polish!  Usually it is simpler for us to think in Polish then please, let us apologize for the inconvenience.  If you have any questions feel free to ask...
